  • Shaving Cream Letters: Spray some shaving cream onto a table or into a box (a shirt box will work best). Have your child write one of the lowercase letters above and tell you what letter it is. Then your child can “erase” the letter and write another! Talk about how the letters are all lowercase.
  • Shopping for Letters: Take your child with you to the mall. There are letters everywhere. Ask your child to search for the above letters. Look at signs, labels, clothes, etc. This is a great way to get your child excited about letters! Ask your child to tell you which letters are uppercase and which are lowercase.
  • Be a Reporter: Have your child look at an article from a magazine or newspaper and point to all the examples he or she can find of a specific letter. Ask your child to tell you which letters are uppercase and which are lowercase. Then have your child circle all the lowercase examples of the letter that can be found.
