- From the Desk of Chris Williams, Art Director -
Hi Gang,
This is the week that we will add some color and detail to our 3D models. I think that we can all agree that grey is a little boring.
Without going too far into mind-numbing detail, we first take our sculpture and virtually “unwrap” it. Basically we have to flatten out all of the polygons onto a 2D plane so we can paint on it in a program such as Adobe Photoshop. The texture is now 2D and we can add all kinds of detail just by drawing on it. We then save our picture and place it on our 3D model and voilà…. a 3d model with color and texture.
I hope you enjoyed the color versions of our 3D models. I will add more during the week.
Good times everyone!
