All you JumpStart fans: Get ready, get excited, and be prepared — JumpStart has gone Wii! That’s right, our newest game, Pet Rescue, will be making its first appearance at the premier gaming expo, E3, on June 2-4, 2009 in Los Angeles. The game launches this fall, creating a whole new world full of adventure, learning, and excitement like you’ve never seen before.
JumpStart Pet Rescue is the first of its kind to dive into Wii’s audience. “The Wii marketplace is an exciting opportunity for us to leverage our trusted brand and leading market share in kids’ games,” says David Lord, CEO of Knowledge Adventure. “By serving parents’ desire to provide better learning experiences for their children while providing a fun, immersive game, we intend to capture market share in the fast-growing youth category.” Get ready for another great adventure and keep your eyes and ears open as JumpStart makes its debut on the Wii!

Man, given the chance, I would have promoted this. I get invited every year, but decline since I have no motive to go.
thi websites is cool man
My daughter is going to pee her pants when I show her this video and then when I tell her the game is called Pet Rescue, she might scream so loud and bust the windows out.
Awesome!
We’re so glad to hear that, Dawn! We’re pretty excited about it, too. Stay tuned to the JumpStart blog for the latest updates on JumpStart Pet Rescue, and good luck with your window repair!

There is too much focus on pets these days. Children need to be taught that people are important too and with so much time spent on rescuing pets there is not enough empathy taught for other human beings first.
In addition to reading and math, we try to teach important values like friendship, helping others and teamwork in all of the JumpStart games. Players earn badges and awards for helping the JumpStart friends with tasks and working together to accomplish challenges. Of course, we also think empathy for animals and taking care of the environment is important. We do our best to maintain a healthy balance among all of the life lessons in our games. We also always appreciate feedback on how we can make our games better. Thanks for letting us know what you think!
Thanks again,
The JumpStart Team

Oh dear – my son just saw the video. He’s been begging us for a Wii, but now we might have a good reason to buy one.
He loves playing Jump Start Kindergarten – in fact, with the software, he has taught himself a lot of Kindergarten skills before he has even started Kindergarten in real life (he starts this fall). I can’t say enough about the Jump Start products as far as an engaging approach to educational software. They are great! We were introduced to Jump Start through a Chick-fil-A kid’s meal a couple of years ago, and we have loved them ever since.
Looking forward to the release this fall!
How will this Wii game be tailored to specific ages? Will it be suitable for my 9yo, 7yo, & 3yo??? Will the learning be tailored specifically to each age? Will there be multiple slots for players to save their individual games? I hope so! We have four children (the oldest is 13) and I definitely favor games which either allow my kids to play and interact together, or at very least, let them play individually and save their individual progress. I do NOT like games that only allow for one player to save his/her progress. They make for very unhappy siblings, which makes for an unhappy SAHM! ;-/
I forgot to mention– I LOVE JumpStart World!!! Just trying to see if this Wii game would work well for our family because my kidlets will be super excited when they find out about it. They also enjoy an educational pet game from another brand which they play on a hand-held system. This sounds like the perfect marriage of the two. We just got a Wii this past Christmas.
Hi, Tonya-
JumpStart Pet Rescue is designed for preschoolers, so it should be just about right for your 3-year-old. (Although the older kids might like it too- there are plenty of people around the JumpStart offices who love playing Pet Rescue!) Although Pet Rescue is single-player only, you will be able to save up to three players’ progress separately, which should reduce the tension at home. We’re also already working on a Wii game for children ages 6 and up, which your older children should enjoy! Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Best,
The JumpStart Team
Is there any projected release date for the 6+ Wii game???
Is Jumpstart Pet Rescue Wii game available in Canada yet? If yes, where can I get it? I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. If no, when will it be available?
Thanks!
Hey Lorna,
JumpStart Pet Rescue on the Wii will be available at Wal-Mart in Canada in a couple weeks. They run a couple weeks behind so make sure to check back soon! Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!
Thanks,
The JumpStart Team
Christmas gift coming right up!!!! Do you have to be online via the WII to play this game, or is it just a standard WII game that doesn’t depend on the internet? Super excited about this game and trying NOT to let my daughters see the promo
Pet Rescue is just a standard free-standing Wii game that does not require an internet connection. Thanks for your interest in the game!
trying to see what accesories are needed for the wii. your promo showed a character stepping up on a wii fit, do i need to purchase one to play?
Hi David – thanks for the question! For our first title, JumpStart Pet Rescue, a balance board is not needed to play. However, we are working on a future title that will use this accessory (exciting!). We’ll release more details here as they come in.
In regards to the question above from Ann – we are aiming for a release this winter. We are currently waiting for Nintendo approval on the game. Please stay tuned here for additional details as we learn more!
I looooove jumpstart first grade. I am a former first grade teacher who is currently homeschooling my three children.
There is no better way to practice skills. It is perfect in this regard. It frees me to guide the children in content based learning.
The only problem with it that I could see, as of last month, was that it wasn’t on Smart Cycle or Wii. I was going to call you guys and beg you to make a deal with each other.
Imagine my surprise when I saw it on the internet.
I have a few questions: will my children have to ride, jump, run, swing, sweat to win the games! And when will your games for older kids be out?
As well, if you could have a Star Wars or Knight involved adventure game, I don’t see how you’d be able to keep it off the shelves.
Hi Denise,
Thank you for all the suggestions! We love getting input from JumpStart customers, and we’ll pass on your ideas to the developers.
Currently, the Pet Rescue title for the Wii calls players to train and care for their pets using the motion sensors of the Wii Remote. Notably, this game is meant for younger children and is not physically-demanding outside of developing motor skills and hand-eye coordination. However, the soon-to-be-released Futureland of the online JumpStart world is meant for 8-10 year olds, and the upcoming title Escape from Adventure Island, expected to come out sometime in November for the Wii, will be geared towards kids ages 5-9. The latter title will also use Wii Remote technology to make characters pull off jumps, rolls, and dances!
At this point, we are just considering a more physically-involved fitness title for the Wii. Hopefully, we’ll be more clear on that with time.
Best,
The JumpStart Team
