Summer’s Here! Beat the Heat with Strawberry Smoothie Pops!

The kids are out of school and the sun is high in the sky! Guess what that means.…Summer is officially here!!  Strawberry smoothie popsicles are a fun, healthy snack to kick this summer off right. This simple recipe will satisfy any sweet tooth and keep everyone cool in the summer heat.

Here is what you will need:

  • 2 cups of strawberries (preferably fresh)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of low-fat milk
  • 2-8oz. containers of non-fat strawberry yogurt

Here’s how to make the strawberry smoothie pops:

  1. Wash strawberries and remove the green leaf tops. Place them in the blender.
  2. Cut the banana into four quarters and add into the blender. Tip: You can substitute other favorite fruits like blueberries, pineapple, or oranges to the mix to create new flavors!
  3. Add yogurt and milk to blender.
  4. Secure the blender lid and blend until all the fruit is blended smooth. Tip: If you would like, you can serve the blended smoothie as a drink!
  5. Pour the smoothie mix into popsicle molds and add sticks.
  6. Place in the freezer for 4-6 hours, and then serve!

This healthy, refreshing snack is a guaranteed hit for anyone on a hot summer day! Just don’t forget to save one for yourself!
