“Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” July is the month to show your appreciation to our beautiful nation. The Fourth of July is a day we celebrate our country by spending time with our families and, of course, eating all-American food. Did you know there are a lot of other holidays throughout the month of July that we skip over without missing a beat? Here’s a list of tasty holidays you and your family can enjoy together throughout the month.
July 12th- Pecan Pie Day- Pecan pie is a classic pie usually only brought out on certain holidays. I think it’s about time we show our appreciation for this wonderful pie.
July 19th- National Raspberry Cake Day- To me, raspberries are the perfect way to celebrate summer. Take a day trip with the kids to the nearest raspberry orchard to get the full effect of this holiday. Once you think you have enough raspberries to last the summer, take them home and wash them thoroughly. Grab your best raspberry cake recipe and bake away. Any leftover raspberries can be frozen and are great in smoothies and in yogurt!
July 23rd- National Hot Dog Day- Hot dogs and July go together like Bert and Ernie. Every dog has its day…including this one! Americans all across the nation eat hot dogs on July 4th, but I believe this great American classic is overshadowed by the holiday. So, on July 23rd… the infamous hot dog has its own day for us to celebrate!
July 30th- National Cheesecake Day- What a great way to end our month of holidays! Cheesecakes come in so many different varieties and flavors all across America. Delegate cheesecake responsibilities to every member of the family and make this last holiday of July count!
July is packed full of fun and exciting holidays to spend with your family. There’s no time to waste! Get out there and enjoy your day with raspberry cake, hot dogs and so much more!
