A while ago, we received a hand-drawn picture from a little girl named Bella. A little after that, Bella’s friend Shannon sent us some of her fantastic drawings as well! Lucky for us, the fan mail keeps on coming! This time, we received a letter from JW and another from five kids who clearly are all number one fans!

Our development team took a look at the pictures and said that these kids have some great suggestions for the game . JW sets the bar higher for our art team with his ideas while the group of five suggests ideas that are out of this world!

If JW’s parents or the parents of the five number one fans are reading this, please let your children know that Frankie insisted on writing a letter back thanking them for all their amazing drawings! We’re sorry we couldn’t show all of the pictures here, but we truly loved all of them!

We would love to hear from more of you fans out there! While it’s great connecting with all the JumpStart parents on our blog and Facebook page, it’s really something special when we get to see the talents of the JumpStart kids themselves. It all started with some sketches…

 Then it was time for these scaly critter designs to be handed over to the 3D artists, where they were built as 3D models of dragons that can…

smile...

look mad...

and even play catch!

The team is still hard at work designing the special dragon habitat where Jumpeez will be able to watch their dragons grow and train them to breathe fire and fly. But, if you’d like to see one of these critters in action ahead of time, stop by the Dragon Playtime kiosk in the arcade! While this game is very limited in comparison to the dragon area that’s being built, you’ll be able practice playing fetch with a baby dragon prototype today.

The JumpStart Team is hard at work designing a whole new area at JumpStart where Jumpeez will be able to hatch and raise pet dragons! How exciting is that? This dragon sanctuary is still very early in the design process, but rumor has it that there will be a hatchery and area for Jumpeez to play with and care for their scaly pals.

We’ll be sure to bring you details about the dragon sanctuary in the upcoming weeks….so stay tuned!

There is a billboard in front of the movie theatre on Main and one in front of the Hall of Fame! Have your child take a photo of anything they find interesting and put it on the billboard for them to see whenever they enter JumpStart!

Storyland

A lot of the various lands within JumpStart also have billboards that you can personalize! Storyland has the most with a few in each of the subsections. In Storyland, children have the option to color a picture or use one from their camera for decorating their billboard! There are a bunch of different tools in the art studio for coloring a picture from adding texture or adding text. Anything your child does will make his or her billboard fantastic! Check this one out!

Adventureland and Marineland

Adventureland and Marineland both have billboards as well! You can even take a photo, and decorate a frame for it and then display its beauty on the billboard. Check out the picture we took of Frankie in Adventureland!

We bet your children might find it cool to take some underwater pictures in Marineland too, so head on to Merllywood to place them on the billboard-walk of fame! Have fun finding and decorating all the billboards to really personalize your world!

There has been quite the demand to have a closer look at the ever-elusive Water Punk-Punk, Abrachius optigigantus.  Our team of JumpStart biologists has managed to capture images of these creatures in their natural habitat.  These incredible pictures have allowed us to create detailed illustrations for further study.

Hi Gang,

This week, I want to show you the newly completed box for our upcoming Wii title: JumpStart Pet Rescue. Please note that the actual art and messaging is still pending approval from Nintendo of America. (Sorry, our legal department is making me put this in).

Anyway, the art department, along with marketing, has produced a pretty cool box. I want to give a big SHOUT-OUT to Lance, Megumi, Seth, and Jen for all the art and Carlos for the messaging and layout.

I have included most of the steps that we took to complete the box art.

We begin by creating thumbnail sketches of the different ideas that we have for the box.

Then, we sketch out a rough layout for the background and continue to add detail.

Here is the color. YAY! Megumi painted most of the characters, while Lance painted the background.
